Louisiana Life March 2015

The Louisiana Life March had a new venue this year.  Instead of being held in downtown Baton Rouge by the Capitol, it was held on Louisiana State University campus.  Governor Bobby Jindal and Ben Clapper (President of Louisiana Right to Life) spoke.  An inspiring testimony was given by a woman named Ursula who experienced two abortions, then had a dramatic conversion.  Now she works tirelessly for the Pro Life cause.  Bishop Sheldon Fabre offered the closing prayer just before the march.  This year, for the first time, marching pro lifers met a group of pro choice protesters, as well as someone holding a sign advertising a Satanic temple in New Orleans.  Our ten year old was very disturbed by the protesters, as he didn’t understand why people would want to go against God, or kill babies.  It was a great opportunity for discussion with him.  America Needs Fatima representatives led a rosary right across from the protesters who chanted and hollered loudly, saying ugly things about the pro-lifers.  The rosary was recited calmly and peacefully.  The contrast was striking.  We are so proud to be residents of one of the most “pro-life” states in the country!  Here are some pictures from today’s event.

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 14, 20 and 27. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!
