Reflection on Today’s Gospel, Sunday, October 13, 2013

I ran into an old friend in the donut shop after church this morning.  In a matter of months, what was once a strong, jovial, large man was now a frail, sunken fellow using every bit of strength he could muster just to get out of the car and put one foot in front of the other.  I was shocked – truly shocked.  It made me ever so grateful to have my health – for my family members to be healthy.  I thought, when is the last time I thanked God for being able to breathe, walk and stand up straight?  We can take nothing – NOTHING – for granted, my friends.  Please pray for my friend that he may receive God’s mercy, grace and healing just like the lepers in today’s gospel.

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 10, 16 and 23. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!
