Fall Has Arrived?

Technically, fall has arrived  – according to the calendar – if not according to thermometers here in the South.  Though we’re still sweating and running around in shorts, stores are filled with pumpkins, squash and autumn decor.  Yearning to get into the Fall mood, I went and got my Halloween/Thanksgiving Rubbermaid tub out of the attic.  Can I say how much I miss having a fireplace and mantle?  We’ve come full circle!  My hubby and I started out in a home where we had to share a closet – and where we had no fireplace.  In buying a new home and gaining an extra room for our little guy, we’re back to sharing a closet and have traded in the fireplace for a larger den.  Mantle pieces serve as a room’s focal point – perfect for drawing your eye to whatever it is adorned with – be it family photos, a mirror, candlesticks or seasonal decorations.  I did the best I could with what I had.  The kids are excited.  I suppose that’s what counts, right?

A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.                               A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.
A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.                                   A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to be silent and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate;
A time for war and a time for peace.

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 14, 20 and 27. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!
