Come Holy Spirit!

Mass readings for Sunday, May 19, Feast of Pentecost

“I am going to reveal to you the secret of sanctity and happiness. Every day
for five minutes control your imagination and close your eyes to the things of
sense and your ears to all the noises of the world in order to enter into      yourself. Then, in the sanctuary of your baptized soul (which is the temple of the Holy Spirit) speak to that Divine Spirit, saying to him:

Oh, Holy Spirit, soul of my soul.  I adore Thee.  Enlighten, guide, strengthen and console me.  Tell me what I must do and help me to do it.  I promise to submit myself to all that You ask of me and to accept all that You permit to happen to me.  Let me only know Your will.

If you do this, your whole life will flow along happily, serenely and full of
consolation, even in the midst of trials.  Grace will be proportioned to the trial, giving you the strength to bear it and you will arrive at the gate of Paradise, laden with merit. This submission to the Holy Spirit is the secret of sanctity.”
                                        CARDINAL MERCIER— (1851-1926)

Breathe in me O Holy Spirit
That my thoughts may all be holy;
Act in me O Holy Spirit
That my work, too, may be holy;
Draw my heart O Holy Spirit
That I love but what is holy;
Strengthen me O Holy Spirit
To defend all that is holy;
Guard me then O Holy Spirit
That I always may be holy.
St. Augustine

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 10, 16 and 23. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!
