Breathe His Name

A friend gave me a devotional type book today.  It was Monday morning and I was feeling overwhelmed by the week ahead.  I opened the book and read this entry:
“Just breathe My Name.  It is like the pressure of a child’s hand that calls forth an answering pressure, strengthens the child’s confidence, and banishes fear.  Just breathe My Name.”

God Calling, A.J. Russell

I began to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth slowly and purposefully, saying Je-sus in my mind and heart as I breathed.  After a few repetitions, I was again focused on Christ – all that really matters.  My heart rate slowed, and I had the peace to proceed through my day with Joy.

If you are feeling stressed, I recommend “breathing His Holy Name.”  Enjoy the video – a song popular in the late 1990’s.  Is it about Jesus?  You be the judge!

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 10, 16 and 23. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!
