A Verse to Ponder

I was reading the bible this morning and came across this verse that put things into perspective for me.  These last few days, it has seemed to me that the world has been turned upside down.  I was beginning to despair, until…

“Just as you know not how the breath of life fashions the human frame in the mother’s womb, so you know not the work of God which He is accomplishing in the universe.” Ecclesiastes 11:5

It helps to be reminded when things seem to be spinning out of control that the maker of the universe is in control.  Whew!  That really changes things.

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 14, 20 and 27. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!

I’ve also been pondering control recently. I know in my heart God always looks after me perfectly so why do I sometimes find it so hard not to get anxious and to keep trusting when life feels out of my control? I am so sorry you have had feelings of near-despair, Dana. I wonder if your poem of a few days ago was expressing your reaction to some out-of-your-control situation in your life at the moment. I will keep you in my prayers.

    God bless you!
