It has been raining and pouring and raining and pouring on and off for days here in the Deep South. People donning galoshes, umbrellas, raincoats and streets filled with puddles – lots and lots of them –
Walking into an office yesterday, drenched and shivering, I held the door for another lady coming in, smiled at her and said, “Good morning.” She answered, “You think so?” with a grumble. I chuckled to myself. “Yes,” I told her, “Have a good one,” and walked away.
I’ll admit, I am photo sensitive. Consecutive days with overcast skies can sometimes get me down, too. But this week, I have not succumb! The Lord has provided the spring rains that will bring the earth to life once again. He has given us this day – another chance – another opportunity to love Him more deeply and serve Him more faithfully. Thank God for that!
Remember, in life’s storms – both literally and figuratively speaking, it’s always darkest before the dawn. The dawn (Easter) is swiftly approaching as lent draws to climax next week with the Holy Week events. Let us make the most of the time we have left.
