A Busy Day

…went to the grocery and drugstore, did laundry, cleaned out the refrigerator and pantry, did some more laundry, cooked spicy chicken, tortilla soup, made homemade beef jerky, did more laundry… You get the picture!  It was a very busy, but a very good day.

Some of my favorite activities were those done with my girl.  This morning, we strung marinated beef on the rungs of the oven rack to dry for several hours (for someone special!!)

This evening, we made our annual gingerbread house.  We had icing, candy and colored sugar everywhere – and I mean EVERYWHERE! Our cookie house experienced major structural and icing troubles, but the end product still looked pretty good.  The laughter we shared was certainly worth the big mess we had to clean up afterward!

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 14, 20 and 27. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!
