The Mission

There has been much talk about end times in recent years.  Truth be told, people have been talking about it since Jesus ascended into heaven!  For generations, we’ve awaited His return.  We’re not sure how we feel about what is said to proceed His triumphant return, however.  The destruction foretold – the uncertainty surely makes us uneasy.

When I was growing up, I remember when my mom was having a particularly rough day – especially when it involved us kids – I would hear momma say, “I hope that Jesus returns soon to save us all!”  As a child, I thought, ” No!  Don’t come, Jesus.  I’m not ready for this life to be over yet.  I’m just getting started!”  Now that I have children of my own, I fully understand how my mom felt.  These are extremely difficult time in which to raise children.  There’s so much evil, self- centeredness, temptation and grave sin.  Some days I find myself wishing that Jesus would come back and rescue us all from this mess!

If these are indeed the end times, then how blessed are we to be part of a final “rescue mission?”  We have the opportunity to help win souls for Christ.  Could there be anything more important or a time more critical?  Let’s get excited about this mission of great consequence!  We were created to live here and in this time.  Let’s go fishing!

Prayer for morning:  Lord, take all that I have and all that I am.  Use me today to bring others to you.  Amen.

About danardoyle

I am a Catholic, working wife and mother. I have three children ages 10, 16 and 23. I am extremely busy, as you can imagine. I aim each and every day to put God first in my life, to teach my children the Faith, to be a supportive spouse, keep the house in order, and do my job outside of the home well, too. That's an impossible task - without Divine intervention! Here, I hope to share my triumphs and struggles with other working moms in the same boat. I will share the tools I have discovered to making it all work - most days!
