I have (accidentally) discovered that I enjoy restoring broken statues. This is the second Mary that I have fixed and repainted this week. Her hand was detached and a chunk of it was missing. The tip of her nose was broken off due to a fall. I had to rebuild the missing part of one hand with some spackling, sand it when dry and repaint the whole statue – with the exception of the base, eyes and mouth. I think she looks pretty good! It was a fun project!
